Need the ability customize the employee tab or hide all together

Not all of our clients are comfortable with the employee tab. They would like the ability to control what can be seen on that directory OR take it away all together. We would much rather take it away completely than breach employee confidentiality. We would also like to have the ability to choose additional columns that are not listed in this default view. Example: Job title instead of position.
